The severe weather continues to keep SMCFD busy. At 10:30 this morning we were advised of a house fire in the Spring Trails subdivision. While crews were responding 911 was receiving multiple calls all stating lighting struck the house and the whole roof was on fire. Ladder 11-4 arrived first and reported heavy smoke and fire. They immediately entered the structure and proceeded to the second floor, where the crew was faced with heavy fire and heat conditions, but was able to get the fire put out before it consumed the whole house. Once complete the fire was contained to only 1 bedroom and all of the attic and roof space. Crews were successful in rescuing the owners cat. There were no injuries reported at this scene. SMCFD received assistance from Spring, The Woodlands and Timber Lakes Fire Departments.
